               MGA Special Group Rules

  1. Scratch Group:  Anyone with a Handicap Index of 9.9 or less may join the Scratch Group.  The Scratch Group Tournament Directors will determine weekly events and rules.  A player may move into or out of the Scratch Group only once during the year.

     

  2. Group 2 and 3: In order to help players maintain the same play day and keep from alternating between Monday (Group 3) and Tuesday (Group 2), the cutoff indexes have been expanded. If you fall within the overlap area, you will be allowed to choose the day/group with whom you wish to play. For official index ranges, visit the MGA Website.

     

  3. Group 3 and 4:Your index as of the day of signup closing for an event will determine whether you play in Group 3 or Group 4. For official index ranges, visit the MGA Website.

     

  4. Tee Box Choice - Group 2: Group 2 players may choose to play from the Silver/White or the White tee boxes. Each player must commit to either Silver/White or White tee boxes at the beginning of the season and may change to a different tee box only once during the season. Handicaps will be determined for scorecard purposes from the Silver/White tees.  Those playing from the White tees will have their handicap adjusted by the Tournament Director prior to play (see the Tee Box HDCP Adjustment Table).

     

  5. Tee Box Choice - Group 3: Group 3 players may choose to play from the Silver or Silver/White tee boxes. Each player must commit to either Silver or Silver/White tee boxes at the beginning of the season and may change to a different tee box only once during the season.
